Garlic

Garlic leaves more behind than flavour. Growing and processing the crop generates an estimated three to four million tonnes of papery husks, stalks and leaves each year — a residual biomass usually sent to landfill or simply burned.

Highsociety Studio gathers these fine, pale skins and works them into its material mix. What is treated everywhere else as the crop's worthless outer layer becomes, here, a deliberate design ingredient rather than a thing to dispose of.

They lend the surface a soft, off-white tonality with a fine, earthy texture — a quiet, natural pale that few would ever guess began as a kitchen-scale nuisance.
