Highsociety Studio is an Italian design practice. We explore the space where agriculture, biology and material culture meet.

Highsociety Studio began in 2015 with first studies and experiments — Johannes Kiniger, with a background in electrical engineering, and Giulia Farencena Casaro, a designer, testing what agricultural by-products could become. In 2018 the studio was officially founded in South Tyrol, where vineyards meet the Dolomites.
Our work starts in the fields — with farmers who trust us to take their waste seriously. We don't buy commodity materials from catalogs. We build relationships with producers, understand their processes, and design objects around what's actually available.
The result is a collection that changes with the seasons. Some materials are abundant in autumn after harvest. Others peak in spring when breweries ramp up production. This rhythm shapes everything we make — and means every piece has a story rooted in a specific time and place.
Four principles.
How we work
Some of our materials are biodegradable at the end of their life, others are not — and we say which. We don't put a compostability label on a lamp that contains electronics. What we can promise is how we make things: pressed at low temperature, powered by renewable energy, finished with natural wax instead of synthetic coatings, and no fillers we can't name.
